Lady lifters sending 2 to state meet

The Gulf Breeze High School girls’ weightlifting team is sending two lifters to the state meet after finishing fifth overall out of 14 schools at the sectional meet.

Audrey Feerick (119-pound weight class) and Katelyn Ezelle (129-class) will represent the Dolphins at the state competition on Saturday, Feb. 11 in Kissimmee, beginning at 9:30 a.m.

The following are sectional results:

119 weight class: Audrey Feerick Benched 120 and Clean/Jerked 125 for a 245 total, giving her 2nd place overall and a spot in the state finals

129 weight class: Katelyn Ezelle Benched 130 and Clean/Jerked 135 for a 265 total, giving her 2nd place overall and a spot in the state finals.

139 weight class: Shannon Kehoe Benched 125 and Clean/Jerked 115 for a 240 total, which placed her 5th overall.

Unlimited Weight class: Emily Arnold had a Bench of 120 and Clean/Jerk of 150, a personal best, for a 270 total, placing her 4th overall.

Aspen Lee Benched 115 and Clean/Jerked 125 for a 240 total, placing her seventh overall.

This will be Feerick’s first and Ezelle’s second appearance in the state competition.
