SRC Sheriff’s Office joins world of ‘Twitter’

The Santa Rosa Sheriff’s Office now offers the convenience of “Twitter” for citizens to receive law enforcement information.

Sheriff Wendell Hall has opened a link on the agency’s Web site at santarosasheriff.org so citizens can receive up-to-date news concerning law enforcement matters in Santa Rosa County. This could include such matters as Amber alerts, alerts, crime prevention issues, traffic jams, disaster response, etc. Any citizen can go to the agency’s Web site and register to receive the bulletins.

Republican Club to hear Cole

The Republican Club of Santa Rosa County will hold its next monthly meeting and Dutch Treat Dinner at The Club at Hidden Creek, 3070 PGA Boulevard, Navarre, at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 3. The featured speaker will be Bob Cole, Santa Rosa County Commissioner District 2, who is seeking reelection.

Gulf Power gives grant to UWF

The Gulf Power Foundation recently approved a $200,000 grant to the University

of West Florida to help equip its Electrical

Engineering “Power Lab” as well as fund

the curriculum.

Gulf Power also provided consultation and direction for design of the state-of-the-art Power Lab that will include three phase circuits, transformers, motors and generators, transmission line models, unbalanced system operations, fault analysis, system protection and metering.
