4th Pensacola Wine Festival coincides with Gallery Night

Pensacola Wine Festival
The 4th Annual Pensacola Wine Festival will take place during Gallery Night in downtown Pensacola from 6 to 9 p.m.
The streets will close and the event will take place, rain or shine, in a gated area down the center of Palafox Place from Garden Street to Zaragossa Street.
You must be at least 21 years of age to enter the gated Wine Festival area – children of any age are not permitted.
Tickets to the Pensacola Wine Festival are $30 and available online at www.downtownpensacola. com, at the event and at several downtown retailers. A $5 discount is available for active-duty military personnel and their spouses when tickets are purchased in-person.
Free stargazing event at Gulfside Pavilion
Discover the greatness of the night sky on beautiful Pensacola Beach. The Escambia Amateur Astronomers' Association will offer free stargazing at 8 p.m. on May 21 and 22 at the Gulfside Pavilion.
Volunteers will set up nearly 20 telescopes ranging in strength and size from duplicates of Galileo's original telescope to today’s incredible large-scope devices for the public to take a peek at wonders such as Jupiter, the Milky Way and other galaxies.

Fly-By Radio to play Gallery Night Concert
Fly-By Radio will perform a Gallery Night Concert at 9:30 p.m. in Phineas Phogg’s, Seville Quarter. Doors will open at 8 p.m.

Discovery Saturday: The Battle of Midway
Hear Capt. Kevin Miller, USN (Ret.) describe how the U.S., still reeling from Pearl Harbor, was able to defeat a superior Japanese force in the Battle of Midway during this month's Discovery Saturday.
As part of its mission to inspire and educate, the Naval Aviation Museum Foundation will present “Discovery Saturday: The Battle of Midway” at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 22 on the flight deck of the USS Cabot in the National Naval Aviation Museum.
This event is free and open to the public.

PJC opens new exhibit
The Anna Lamar Switzer Center for Visual Arts at Pensacola Junior College presents “Pat Regan, Retrospective” May 25 through July 22 at the Visual Arts Gallery.
Meet Regan at a reception from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 3.
Regan graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi and attended Pratt Institute in Venice, Italy for graduate study. Morocco, France and Greece.

Kyle Parker Band at Bands on the Beach
Twenty-two year old music sensation Kyle Parker of the Kyle Parker Band may be young, but this seasoned musician has been beatin' the skins for more than nine years.
