The Gulf Breeze Dolphin baseball team got a two-hit, 11-strikeout performance from Ben Lively in a 13-0, five-inning win at Washington to improve to 3-0 in District 1- 4A play.

Lively needed only 73 pitches to get the win, walking only two in the game.

GBHS took a 4-0 lead in the first inning, including a two-out RBI triple by Tyler Boylan, who added a double later in the game.

Stephen Robbins, who went 3-for-3, added an RBI single in the first inning, which included three Washington errors.

Boylan’s RBI double in the third inning made it 5-0. Robbins added an RBI single in a three-run fourth, while Anthony Stancher and Taylor Webb hit run scoring singles in a five-run fifth. Thomas Dorsey, who went 2- for-4, added a two-out, two-run double in the fifth inning.

Justin Ratte struck out three batters in the final 1/3 innings, the last one coming around 10:35 p.m. Thursday.

The Gators scored twice in the bottom of the first before GBHS tied it in the third. Jase Brown walked and scored on a passed ball, while Josh Suelflow walked and scored on a two-out single by Tyler McGee.

Robbins hit a solo homer to put GBHS up for good in the fifth inning. The Dolphins added three more in the sixth inning.

Lively led off with a single and after a Thomas McVoy groundout, scored on a single by Boylan. Ratte, into run for the catcher Boylan, scored on a single by Suelflow. Webb’s two-out single scored Suelflow.

Jackson Yates started the game before giving way to Thomas Dorsey, who hadn’t pitched in a year and a half due to an elbow injury. He got out of a jam in the fifth, catching a basestealer in a rundown. Colby Brown came in, pitching an inning before Ratte closed it out.

McVoy’s two-run double, his first hit of the season, gave the Dolphins the lead for good in the second inning. Ratte’s groundout scored McVoy.

Dorsey led off the fourth inning with a single. He scored on single by Boylan. Ratte and Webb both singled before McGee singled to score two runs.

Robbins, who went 2-for-4, beat out a single to score another run before Robin Hoffpauir’s fielder’s choice plated another.

Alex Ball struck out five and allowed only four hits in five innings, while Trey Davis struck out two and gave up only one hit in the final two innings.

Dolphin JV 11, Escambia 4

Mitch Yano allowed only five hits in six innings as the Dolphin JV beat the Gators.

Matt Paule went 2-for-2 with a run scored and a pair of RBIs, while Trey Baker tripled and scored twice. Max McDaniel went 2-for-2 and scored once, while Kyle McGee scored twice.

Ramsey Wilks singled and scored twice, while Andrew Jurnovoy also scored twice.
