PJC presents ‘Doubt, A Parable’

The Pensacola Junior College Ashmore Fine Arts Auditorium will host three showings of “Doubt, A Parable,” this weekend. Friday and Saturday shows are at 7:30 p.m., with a Sunday matinee at 2:30 p.m.

“Doubt, A Parable” is written by John Patrick Shanley. It explores the power of certainty and uncertainty. It is winner of the 2005 Pulitzer prize and Tony Award.

“Victor/Victoria” continues at PLT this weekend with Friday and Saturday shows at 7:30 p.m. and a Sunday matinee at 2:30 p.m.

Victoria is a struggling soprano who just bombed her audition at a tawdry Paris night club. Toddy is a gay entertainer who is barely holding onto his own job at the same club. When Toddy's ex mistakes Victoria for a man, Toddy dreams up the perfect solution to their problems-- make Victoria a star as a woman pretending to be a man pretending to be a woman. With "Victor" now the toast of the Parisian night club scene, complications and hilarity inevitably follow, especially when Chicago mobster King Marchan somehow finds himself falling for Victor.

Gulf Coast Renaissance Faire invades Fairgrounds

Knights on horseback, Medieval crafters and bands of Gypsies plan to invade Pensacola this weekend.

On March 6 and 7, at The Pensacola Interstate Fairgrounds, 6655 Mobile Hwy., the 9th annual Gulf Coast Renaissance Faire will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.

The two-day festival will feature medieval Jousting Knights, Falconry, the King & Queen, Swashbuckling Swordsmen, Storytellers, Arabian Dancers, Gypsy Dancers, Medieval Pony Rides and more!

AKC Dog Show prances at equestrian center

The Escambia County Equestrian Center is hosting an AKC Dog Show on March 6 and 7 at 9 a.m. Saturday and 8:30 a.m. Sunday.

The show will include conformation, featuring many of the dogs seen at the Westminster show, and obedience, including the newest obedience trials, rally.

Food and vendors of specialized, often hard to find items will be available. The judging schedule will be on the club website when it becomes available.

On Saturdays, from 9 a.m. to 12 noon, get out to Bayview Park in Pensacola for a shopping experience like no other. Items for sale at Flea markets Saturdays will vary from clothing to pottery, jewelry, baked goods and much more.
