Jean Suzanne Freeman, 63, of Gulf Breeze, passed away on Monday, Jan. 25, 2010.
Freeman was born Feb. 14, 1946 in Washington, D.C. She was a respected interior designer and taught classes at Arizona State University before moving to Gulf Breeze.
Freeman was a well-known reporter and columnist for the Gulf Breeze Sentinel, for which she wrote the ‘Around Town’ column. She later worked for and wrote the Talk of the Town column for Gulf Breeze News. She also wrote for Splash! magazine and The Islander.
Freeman was a loving daughter, mother, grandmother and caregiver to all. She gave of herself before her own needs.
Freeman was preceded in death by her father, Allen H. Schooley.
She is survived by her mother, Meriel M. Schooley; brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Eileen Schooley; sister, Mary Schooley; daughter, Alex; granddaughters, Catherine and Adrianna Beckwith; grandson, Liam Beckwith; son and daughterin law, Zachary and Daisy Hu Freeman; granddaughter, Audrey Freeman; and ex-husband, Steve W. Freeman.
A Memorial service was held Wednesday, Jan. 28 at Gulf Breeze United Methodist Church Chapel.
