PollBig Bands are back in February at the National Naval Aviation Museum
Concerts feature the Glenn Miller Orchestra and Orlando Jazz Orchestra
Get ready for big sounds as the National Naval Aviation Museum Concert Series continue in full swing at 7 p.m. on the 18th and 27th. The February concerts will feature music by the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra, The Glenn Miller Orchestra and the Orlando Jazz Orchestra. The Glenn Miller Orchestra, a fully self-contained group consisting of 19 members, will bring a unique jazz sound to the Museum at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 18. The Miller Estate formed the present Glenn Miller Orchestra in 1956, and the band has been touring consistently since, playing an average of 300 live dates a year around the globe to millions of fans. Tickets are $27.50 for general public and $22.50 for Foundation members and groups of 20 or more. The Orlando Jazz Orchestra will present a concert of musical tributes to all of the famous big bands of the swing era at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 27. The ensemble also performs as a jazz orchestra and plays great swing music, as well as integrating music from the 50s and beyond. Tickets are $25 for general public and $20 for Foundation members and groups of 20 or more. The Cubi Bar Café will feature a special menu before each concert with a cash bar beginning at 5:15 p.m. The National Naval Aviation Museum features FREE admission and a full slate of events throughout the year.
