Morris, Majewski, UWF Final Four-bound again
Dilts to play in All Star Game
Kaley Morris (GBHS Class
of 2006)
played all 90 minutes for the top-ranked UWF Lady Argos soccer team in a 2-1, come-from-behind win over Carson Newman in a Division II national quarterfinal match.
UWF (22-0) trailed at the half for the first time all season. With the win, they advanced to their second consecutive Final Four, which will be played Dec. 3 and 5 at the University of Tampa.
Morris, who has three goals and two assists this season, was also one of eight Lady Argos to make the NCAA DIvision II All South Region team. She was also a Gulf South Conference First Team selection and was also the GSC Tournament Most Outstanding Player.
Morris’ latest point was setting up UWF (and former GBHS) teammate Jessica
Majewski (c/o ‘09)
for the team’s final goal of a 6-1 win over North Alabama in a second round match on Nov. 15.

Huntingdon’s Zach Brothers
(c/o ‘06)
had five tackles and a sack in 56-35 loss to Mississippi College in the first round of the NCAA Division III playoffs.
Ben Ganus
(c/o ‘06)
started at fullback and had two carries for 14 yards, while Tim
Dilts (c/o ‘05)
started at right guard.
Brothers had two tackles in the Hawks’ 35-0 loss to South Alabama on Nov. 14 and a 59-28 win over Birmingham Southern Nov. 7. Ganus had runs of one and two yards in those games, while Dilts started both at right guard.
Dilts
Brothers started all 11 games for the Hawks, recording 39 tackles and a team-high four sacks. He also recovered a fumble and blocked a kick. Ganus played in eight games (starting two) and finished with 52 yards rushing.
Dilts was recently selected to play in the Division III North/South Senior Classic Dec. 5 in Salem, Va.
Dilts, a right guard, has helped the Hawks lead the nation in total offense at 540 yards a game. He’ll graduate with an accounting degree this spring.
Alyssa Smith (c/o ‘09)
played four minutes in Ole Miss’ 1-0 loss to Washington in the opening round of the NCAA Division I soccer playoffs on Nov. 13. Smith played four minutes in the Lady Rebels’ 1-0 loss to Auburn in the opening round of the Southeastern Conference Tournament on Nov. 3.
Smith played in seven matches for Ole Miss this season, scoring one goal.

Andy (c/o ‘06)
and Aileen
Atzhorn (c/o ‘08)
both placed in four events for South Carolina in a dual loss to Tennessee Nov. 6.
Andy was fourth in the 400 yard individual medley (4:09.17), fifth in the 200 yard breaststroke (2:14.42) and sixth in the 100 yard backstroke (54.29).
Andy was also the third leg on USC’s fifth place finish in the 200 medley relay (1:38.07).
Aileen was fourth in the 100 and 200 yard breaststroke (1:07.46 and 2:28.95). She was sixth in the 400 IM (4:42.41) and was the second leg on USC’s fourth place finish in the 200 medley relay (1:50.78).
Central Florida’s Brock Sakey
(c/o ‘05)
won Flight 5 of the South Florida Invitational on Oct. 30. Sakey beat South Florida’s Juan Carlos 6-7, 6-2 (13-11).
Caitlin Skislak (c/o ‘05)
had nine kills and seven digs for Mount Olive College in a 3-0 loss to Limestone College on Nov. 6. She then had six kills and three digs for in a 3-0 win over Converse College on Nov. 7.
Skislak then had three kills and seven digs in MOC’s 3-1 loss to Anderson College in the opening round of the Conference Carolinas Tournament Nov. 10.
Skislak finished the season tied for the team-high in total games played (111) and digs (240). She had 233 kills, which was third most on the team.
Celia Eddy (c/o ‘09)
had a block in Elon University's 3-0 win over Wofford Nov. 7 and two kills and four blocks in a 3- 1 win over North Carolina A&T on Nov. 10.
Eddy had a kill and two blocks in a 3-2 loss to Appalachian State Nov. 14 and three kills, three digs and four blocks in a 3-2 loss to Western Carolina on Nov. 15.
Elon closes its season with a 23-8 record, its best record since moving to Division I.
Jaime Hayes (c/o ‘06)
had three kills and 20 assists in St. Andrews’ 3-0 loss to Lees- McRae in the opening round of the Conference Carolinas Tournament on Nov. 10.
Hayes finished the season with 327 assists, 128 digs and teamhigh 94.4 serving percentage. SAPC finished the season 12-20.
Jake Burks (c/o ‘08)
played, but didn’t record any stats for West Alabama in their 24-22 regular season finale against Albany State on Nov. 14.
Gulf Breeze resident Jeff
Van Camp (Navarre c/o ‘06)
went 22-for-33 passing for 193 yards and a touchdown in Florida Atlantic’s 47-21 loss to Troy Saturday.
David Kooi (Catholic c/o ‘08)
was 1-for-3 for 13 yards, while Alfred Morris (Pine Forest c/o
‘06)
had 139 yards rushing and two touchdowns in the loss.
Jenna Thorp (c/o ‘06)
had four kills and two digs for Maryville College in a 3-0 win over the University of Texas- Dallas Nov. 12.
Maryville College finished the season 30-6 after losing to Southwestern, Texas in the second round of the NCAA Division III playoffs. Thorp finished the season with 106 kills, 20 aces, 64 digs and 27 blocks.

Epstein (c/o ‘09)
had one shot in Huntingdon College’s 3-1 season-ending loss to Maryville College Nov. 6.
Epstein played in 17 of the Hawks’ 18 games this season, while Hines played in all 18. The Hawks finished the season 3-15.
Josh Hurd (c/o ‘06)
played, but didn’t record any stats in Southern Miss’ 44-34 win over Tulsa Saturday. The Golden Eagles (7-4) can clinch a berth in the Conference USA championship game with a win over East Carolina Saturday.
Both Stevi Steinhauer (c/o ‘06)
and Jessie Carr (c/o ‘06)
placed in four events in Florida State’s 162- 138 win over LSU on Nov. 7.
Steinhauer was third in the 50 yard freestyle (23.72) and fourth in the 100 yard freestyle (52.26). She was also in FSU's second place finishes in the 200 yard medley relay (anchor leg, 1:44.72) and 400 yard freestyle relay (second leg, 3:26.98).
Carr was fifth in the 200 yard breaststroke (2:30.29) and sixth in the 100 yard backstroke (1:08.21). She was also part of FSU’s fourth place finish in the 200 yard medley (second leg, 1:48.45) and 400 yard freestyle (third leg, 3:38.46) relays.
