      Gulf Breeze Fire & Rescue For the week of Nov. 14 through Nov. 20, Gulf Breeze Fire & Rescue was called for 25 emergencies. These incidents included 14 medical calls, 1 motor vehicle accident, 2 structure fires in Midway, 2 public assists, 3 hazardous materials situations, and 3 canceled en route.

Local man charged with sexual assault
      A Gulf Breeze man was arrested and charged with sexual assault on a 17- year-old girl. James Kacachos, 40, of Oviedo Street, was arrested Wednesday, Nov. 18 for incidents that occurred over the course of a month and a half with a babysitter. He was released on $50,000 bond. Lt. Rick Hawthorne also reported these incidents, which occurred between Nov. 16 and 23:

Field house filth opens eyes
      Gulf Breeze High principal Sylvan Ladner is reviewing his school’s custodial contract to ensure the athletic field house is cleaned regularly and adequately. The issue arose Sunday, Nov. 8 when eight members of the Quarterback Club undertook a challenging five-hour clean-up of the facility prior to the season ending Beach Bowl football game against Navarre High.
