Morris makes All Academic team

Kaley Morris (GBHS Class of 2006) of the No. 1 University of West Florida women’s soccer team has been selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America to the Academic All- District Team.

UWF goalkeeper Courtney Jones (Panama City Bay c/o ‘06) represents the Argos on the First Team while Morris will claim her spot on the Third Team for district three.

Morris earns her first career selection for CoSIDA/ESPN Academic All-District. A biology major, Morris has earned a 3.52 grade point average over her four year career with West Florida.

She has also claimed Gulf South Conference Defender of the Week last month. The team leader in minutes played (1,428), she has tallied three goals and one assist this season.

Morris played 71 minutes, while Jessica Majewski (c/o ‘09) played 47 minutes and had two shots in UWF's 10-0 win over Lambuth in their regular season finale Saturday.

Morris Morris Jesse Vickrey (c/o ‘09) played 19 minutes, while Gabby DeVries (Navarre c/o ‘08) played 88 minutes in Florida Atlantic's 1-0 loss to Florida International.

Zach Brothers (c/o ‘06) had a team-high six tackles, including a half a sack, in Huntingdon College’s 51-13 win over LaGrange Saturday.

Ben Ganus (c/o ‘06) had one carry for two yards, while Tim Dilts (c/o ‘05) started at right guard.

Jaime Hayes (c/o ‘06) had a team-high 11 assists and nine digs in St. Andrews Presbyterian College’s 25-17, 25-21, 25-16 loss to Erskine College on Friday.

Hayes, one of four SAPC seniors, had eight assists and eight digs on Senior Day, a 25- 11, 25-16, 25-15 loss to Anderson College Saturday.

Caitlin Skislak (c/o ‘06) had eight kills and nine digs in Mount Olive College’s 21-25, 25-19, 25-23, 25-23 win over Coker College Oct. 27.

Skislak had a kill and five digs in MOC’s 25-18, 25- 16, 25-18 loss to Lees- McRae Friday and had seven kills and four digs in their 19-25, 25-20, 26-24, 25-20 loss to Belmont Abbey Saturday.

Jenna Thorp (c/o ‘06) had four kills and two digs in Maryville College’s 18-25, 25- 17, 25-19, 25-18 win over Transylvania Friday.

She then had two kills and a dig in MC’s 22-25, 25-22, 24- 26, 25-16, 15-11 win over Centre College Saturday and four kills and three digs in MC’s 25-21, 25-16, 21-25, 24-26, 15- 13 win Saturday.

Celia Eddy (c/o ‘09) played in two games of Elon College's 25-23, 25-8, 28-26 win over Samford Saturday.

Emily Tryon (c/o ‘09) ran a 20:00.8, finished 50th out of 100 runners for Elon College took second place at the Southern Conference Championships Saturday.

Andy Atzhorn (c/o ‘06) placed in three events for the South Carolina swim team in their 160-140 loss to Clemson Saturday.

Atzhorn was third in the 1,000 yard freestyle (9:37.75), fourth in the 200 yard breaststroke (2:12.94) and sixth in the 200 yard individual medley (1:56.48).
