Lady Dolphin volleyball finishes district play perfect at 8-0
      The Gulf Breeze Lady Dolphin volleyball team finished regular season play perfect in District 1- 4A play with a 25-11, 25-15, 25- 18 win over Washington Oct. 6 in Gulf Breeze. Tristan Powers, who finished with 41 assists, scored eight straight points on serve to give GBHS (15-2, 8-0) a 19-5 game one lead. Sarah Lewis had two of her eight kills in the run.

Sakey wins singles title at UCF Invitational
McGuire scores in Lafayette’s win over North Texas
      Brock Sakey (GBHS Class of 2005) won the C singles title for Central Florida at the UCF Tennis Invitational on Sunday. Sakey won a singles match and a doubles match Friday and Saturday.

2004 Lady Dolphin golfers win district
      The 2004 Lady Dolphin golf team finished first out of four teams to win the district title. Ashley Offerdahl was the top finisher with a 96. The boys team finished third as Matt Burkett led the Dolphins with a 79. The Dolphin football team scored 20 of its 23 points off turnovers to beat Woodham 23-7.

Dolphins go 3-2 at third annual GBN Bowl
      Gulf Breeze went 3-2 against Tiger Point in the third annual Gulf Breeze News Bowl Saturday at Tiger Point Park. The Dolphin Mighty Mites, Blue Mini Mites and Blue Midgets were winners, as were Tiger Point’s Mites and Juniors. The winners won the ‘golden cowbell,’ a travelling trophy that they get to hold on to for 51 weeks until the 2010 games.

      The Gulf Breeze White Mites clinched a playoff spot and the District 4 championship Saturday with a 40-0 win at Northwest Escambia. The defense, led by Mitch Cagle, Deems Edlund, Colton Hines, Ben Zimmer, Trenton Lamar, Brandon Klisart and Kohl McConaghy, held NWE to 50 yards of total offense.

      The Gulf Coast Bulldogs 12- under baseball team recently won back-to-back tournaments in Orange Beach and Pensacola.      Members of the Gulf Breeze High AFJROTC, shown here presenting the colors at the recent Homecoming Pep Rally, will host the 16-team Roger Tornow Dolphin Invitational Drill Meet Saturday at Dolphin Stadium. Teams from as far as Prattville, Ala. and Gulfport, Miss. are entered and will be judged by members of all four military branches. Admission is free of charge. The competition starts at 8 a.m.
