Gulf Breeze Rotary aids in Habitat House project
      In support of annual World Habitat Day, the Gulf Breeze Rotary will be working with Pensacola Habitat for Humanity on Saturdays in October to build a home in South Santa Rosa County. Club members will be joined by Scout Troop 11 from Gulf Breeze Presbyterian Church, and the Gulf Breeze High School Interact Club.

      If the Department of Environmental Regulation (DEP) requires the Navarre Beach Septic Treatment Plant to cease piping effluent into the Santa Rosa Sound, there are at least two options for alternate disposal. Under the Clean Water Act, the DEP can only permit surface water discharges that meet specific and tightly regulated standards.

Multi-Cultural Market Place returns Saturday
      On Saturday, Oct. 10 from 9 a m. to 5 p m., artists, crafters, food vendors and entertainers will gather for the annual Navarre Fall Festival of the Arts. The theme this year is "A Multi-Cultural Market Place." Every year, new and different artists showcase the wonderful local talented people in this area. The festival will be held in Navarre Park on U.S. Highway 98.

Meredith finishes Navy basic training
      Navy Seaman Christopher J. Meredith, son of Susan A. Stalvey of Mobile, Ala., and Ward D. Meredith of Gulf Breeze, recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill. Meredith is a 2005 graduate of Gulf Breeze High School.
