Meadows takes reins at Pensacola JC
      Edward "Ed" Meadows was officially installed as the sixth president of Pensacola Junior College on Sept. 22. Board Chair John O'Connor conducted the traditional swearing in ceremony, and President Emeritus G. Thomas Delaino, fifth president of PJC, participated by presenting Meadows the official presidential medallion.

OBE students discover dance
      The dancers of Ballet Pensacola visited Oriole Beach Elementary School on Friday, Sept. 25 for two special programs. As a part of Ballet Pensacola's Discover Dance program, dancers performed excerpts from the upcoming "Sleeping Beauty" production, which debuts next month at the Saenger Theatre.

      Lifeguard Ambulance is expanding in Santa Rosa County. Lifeguard's Santa Rosa County Director Jason Kimbrell asked the county commission last week to allow the county's dispatchers to handle transport calls for the ambulance service from outside the county's boundaries. The commissioners agreed.
