      Carolyn Anne Lyon, 74, of Gulf Breeze, passed away July 28, 2009 at Covenant Hospice in Pensacola. Lyon is survived by her husband of 53 years, Richard F. Lyon; daughters, Caren L. Jordan of Gulf Breeze and Catharine L. Lyon of Colorado Springs, Colo.; seven grandchildren and numerous friends.

      John Arthur Yelverton, 91, of Fort Walton Beach and formerly of Gulf Breeze, passed away July 26, 2009. Yelverton was born Oct. 16, 1917, in San Antonio, Texas. In the pre-World War II years Yelverton joined the Florida National Guard as an artilleryman and spent time in Galveston, Texas, and Key West. Yelverton was inducted into the U.S.
