      Residents and businesses on Pensacola Beach should have fire and rescue service restored within days, not weeks, following a major hurricane now that a new two-story, $3.06 million fire station is operational.

Beach church has come a long way since Ivan
New fellowship hall will be dedicated Sunday, Aug. 9
      This Sunday, at 11 a.m., Hurricane Ivan will be relegated to history as the Pensacola Beach Community Church ushers in a new era with a brand new fellowship hall. The last fellowship hall, as well as the church's offices, Sunday school classrooms and kitchen were damaged beyond repair by storm surge.

A chicken can't fly like an eagle
      There's an old story about a farmer who found an eagle's egg and not knowing what else to do, he put it in the nest of a backyard chicken. The egg hatched and the eaglet grew up with the brood of chicks. It was only natural that the eagle should do what the backyard chickens did, as he just assumed he was a backyard chicken, too.
