PollSt. Paul Methodist plans 'camp meetings'

St. Paul United Methodist Church of Gulf Breeze is going to one service each Sunday during the month of August, starting Aug. 9 under the theme Good Ole Camp Meeting Days. The public is invited through Aug. 30 to sing some good old church camp songs and worship camp-meeting style. There will be a special musical guest each week. Community coffee time begins each Sunday at 8:30 a.m., followed by Sunday School at 9 and the Camp Meeting Service at 10. Calvary Chapel Calvary Chapel-Gulf Breeze will sponsor a Back-To-School Fun Fest from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 8 at Tiger Point Park. Members, guests and the public will enjoy music, food, water slides, competitive games, big toys, concessions and more. On Sunday, Aug. 16, Calvary Chapel will stage its always popular Beach Baptism at 5 p.m. at Park East on Pensacola Beach Members and guests will gather for a time of worship, fellowship and testimony through believer's baptism. Candidates or prospects for Baptism are asked to contact the church at 932-8197 to indicate plans to participate. Calvary Chapel is located at 1140 Harrison Avenue in Gulf Breeze. Concord Presbyterian The Master's Men Quartet will present a concert of traditional Southern Gospel music at Concord Presbyterian Church, 4191 Gulf Breeze Parkway, at 6 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 9. The Master's Men, based in Milton, specialize in four-part harmony with piano accompianant. Sunday will mark their second visit to Concord Church. They will sing many of their favorites, including 'He Pilots My Ship,' 'What a Meeting in the Air,' 'I'm Free Again' and 'Highway to Heaven.' There is no admission charge, but a love offering will be collected to help with expenses. The public is invited. The church is located one mile east of Tiger Point Walmart. Gulf Breeze UMC The Senior Adult Ministries of Gulf Breeze United Methodist Church will have its monthly Sharing and Caring luncheon on Monday, Aug. 10 at 11 a.m. in the Gilmore Fellowship Hall on the Fairpoint Campus. The cost is $3, and reservations are not necessary. The menu will include chopped steak and gravy, mashed potatoes, steamed broccoli, yeast roll and lemon cake with cream cheese frosting. Bring a friend or neighbor. While you dine, Maxine Gray will play some toe-tapping tunes on the organ. There are many activities and trips planned for the Senior Adults. Each Wednesday at 10 a.m., Rev. Ruth Knights leads a Bible study, currently studying the book of Daniel. The Lunch Bunch meets each Wednesday behind the sanctuary to travel to a local area restaurant to enjoy fun, food and fellowship. It's Dutch treat; no reservation necessary.
