Dolphins excel at 7-on-7 tournament
JV team wins tournament; varsity wins three straight before falling in semifinals
      It was a good day for the Dolphin football program Friday at a 7-on-7 tournament at Fort Walton Beach High School. The varsity, after going 0-5 at a 7-on-7 tournament at Tate just six days earlier, won three straight before losing in the semifinals to the host team, while the junior varsity won five of its six games to win the JV division.

Approximately 40 players from as far as Panama City participate in event sponsored by Acceleration
      Approximately 40 kids from as far away as Panama City and Cottondale descended on Dolphin Stadium Saturday to participate in the inaugural Combine on the Coast, sponsored by Acceleration, the Sports Connection and Panhandle Sports Broadcasting.

Heading east
      While the Challenger Soccer Camp stopped in Gulf Breeze two weeks ago, they travelled down the highway and stopped in at Tiger Point Park last week. Each camper received a Challenger Sports soccer ball, while campers who registered online 45 days in advanced received a Challenger Sports jersey.

ECGT celebrates 10 years of great customers
      Meadowbrook Golf and the Emerald Coast Golf Trail (ECGT) will celebrate 10 years of great customers during the month of August. This year marks the 10th year that Meadowbrook has managed the four courses on the ECGT, including Tiger Point Golf Club. The 10-year celebration includes special events on each day of the month, and is open to anyone in the community.

      LSU Student Sendoff August 2 The Panhandle Bayou Bengals will host a LSU Student Send Off Party, Sunday August 2 from 3-5 p.m. at Jerry's Cajun Cafe, 6205 N. 9th Ave. in Pensacola. The PBB will award two scholarships - one for an incoming freshmen and one for a current student.
