Board votes 15-0 to nullify Policy 6, which would've reduced most sports schedules by 20 percent
      GAINESVILLE - The Florida High School Athletic Association Board of Directors voted unanimously Thursday (15-0) to rescind the amendments to Policy 6, "Sports Season Guidelines.

Gulf Coast Bulldogs win USSSA World Series
      The Gulf Coast Bulldogs won the 11-under division at the USSSA World Series last weekend in Pace. The Bulldogs, one of 34 teams in their bracket (that included teams from nine states), won eight straight games after losing their opener.

Warford to play football for Millsaps
Baseball also a possibility for receiver, who caught 44 passes last season
      Former Dolphin wide receiver Cody Warford, who was second in the area in receptions last season, recently signed a letter of intent to play for Millsaps College, a Division III school in Jackson, Miss. "He knows he's in a situation to help a program," head coach Chris Nemith said.

Gulf Breeze youth rises to 'Challenge'
     More than 100 kids participated in a week-long soccer camp at the Rec Center last week, put on by Challenger Sports. Some of the campers also dyed their hair, similiar to one of their instructors.

Dolphin football spends weekend playing 7-on-7
      The Gulf Breeze Dolphins and head coach Chris Nemith found some positives in Saturday's Beef O'Brady's/U.S. Navy 7-on-7 Football Tournament Saturday at Tate High School. The Dolphins were one of 12 teams that competed in the tournament, which was won by Catholic 36-34 over Daphne.

Will dance for trophies
     Amy Miller (co-captain), Miranda Coley (captain) and Charlotte Engel (co-captain) show off the trophies the GBHS dance team won at the recent University of Alabama Dance Camp. The three were also invited to perform in the Macy's Day Parade on Thanksgiving.

      An 'axe murderer' came to Pensacola Beach last week, but don't worry - he left the hatchet at home. Wanderlei Silva, a seven-year Pride Middleweight Champion (2001-07), made a public appearance at the Hooters on Pensacola Beach on July 15.
