PMA Member's Show Exhibit opening

The annual Members' Juried Exhibition celebrates the artistic endeavors of its active members as the galleries are filled with their painting, sculpture, and mixed media pieces. The exhibit, which opens on July 3, represents a rich and diverse collection of work, ranging from traditional painting styles and threedimensional pieces to contemporary treatments and mediums. All the artwork included is recently produced, often being exhibited for the first time.

The Pensacola Museum of Art is located at 407 South Jefferson Street, Pensacola.

KABOOM celebration lights up 4th of July weekend at the beach

Join the three day Celebration of America's Independence starting on July 3 to the 5.

Kaboom, one of the biggest and best fireworks displays on the coast will start at 9 pm and feature over 2,200 aerial shells. Produced by Fun Coast Promotions, a spectacular fireworks extravaganza will take place over Santa Rosa Sound.

The three day event concludes Sunday July 5 with more live music at the Gulfside Pavilion from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Joe Occhipinti playing Jazz from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Quietwater Shell.

Sertoma's 4th of July Celebration hits the streets of Pensacola

This free event begins at 11 a.m. in Seville Square in Pensacola. It includes a Children's Area with inflatables and pony rides, Arts and Crafts vendors, food vendors, and live entertainment at the gazebo stage.

At 7:30 p.m. there will be a free concert featuring Junior Brown from Austin, Tex. Festivities will culminate with 9 p.m. Fireworks over Pensacola Bay, syncronized with music broadcast on Cat Country FM 98.7. This year's music for the fireworks is themed around Pensacola's 450'th celebration.

Pensacola Pelicans open series against El Paso Diablos

The Pelicans open a six-game series against the El Paso Diablos at 6:35 p.m. on Tuesday thru Friday. The Saturday and Sunday games begin at 6:05 p.m.

Full Moon Ghost Tours of lighthouse begin this week

The Pensacola Lighthouse Association will be holding full moon ghost tours once a month until the end of their tour season in October.

The dates are as follows: July 7, Aug. 6, Sept. 4 and Oct. 4.

The ghost tours will be conducted by light of the full moon. Visitors will climb 177 steps to the most breath taking view of Pensacola while listening to tales of haunting encounters at, according to the Travel Channel, one of America's Most Haunted Lighthouses.

Tours will be begin at 7:30 p.m., 9 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. Reservations are strongly suggested.

A collection of bridal jewelry, floral art, world-class photography, make-up and hair, music, catering . . . virtually everything but the bridal gown may be touched, tasted, listened to and sampled during Pensacola's alternative bridal show, Everything but the Dress; the Wedding as a Muse.
