Sales-tax proposal 'the only way' to fund new courthouse
      I have been asked to address the current state of the Santa Rosa County Courthouse. The current courthouse was completed in 1927, making it 82 years old. Through the years, there have been renovations and additions made in an attempt to keep up with the growth the county has experienced.

      O n a warm summer night, I sat in my car in the parking lot of Paradise Bar and Grill. I had decided to not get out.       Danny Gifford, a rising junior at Gulf Breeze High School, recently completed his Eagle Scout Project by rehabilitating the grounds and facilities at the House of Faith Full Gospel Church in Midway. Gifford is a Life Scout with Troop 417 at St. Ann Catholic Church. His Scoutmaster is Robert Engel.

Tougher seat-belt law now in force
      Motorists in Florida now can expect to receive a traffic citation if they are driving their vehicle without having buckled their safety belt. Gov. Charlie Crist signed the Dori Slosberg- Katie Marchetti Safety Belt ACT (Senate Bill 344-House Bill 1) on May 6 that eliminated the weakness of Florida's safety belt law, which allowed only "secondary enforcement.
