Colorful trams help you get where you want to go
      During major events like the July 10-12 Blue Angels Weekend and other peak tourism periods like the Fourth of July, vehicular traffic on Pensacola Beach can grind to a virtual standstill. Public parking lots cannot accommodate all the vehicles, forcing residents, vacationers and visitors alike to seek alternative means to get around the popular barrier island.

      Friday Fun Night Under the Stars, 8 p.m. at the Gulfside Pavilion. The Escambia Amateur Astronomers Association will host a night under the stars. ¦ The Sounds of Summer, 6 to 8 p.m. at the Portofino Boardwalk Band Shell. Regular Joe will perform modern rock covers.
