Mole Patrol plans screenings during Blue Angels week

More than 1 million cases of skin cancer will be diagnosed this year, but you don't have to be one of them.

Baptist Health Care is teaming up with Moffitt Cancer Center and AAA Auto Club South during Blue Angels Weekend, July 10-11, to offer Mole Patrol, a free skin cancer screening event.

The Mole Patrol tent will be located by Casino Beach's Public Safety Building from 8 a.m. to noon both days. Participants will have the opportunity to discuss sun-exposed areas of concern with on-site oncologists and dermatologists from Moffitt Cancer Center and Baptist Health Care. The team will be looking for the two major types of skin cancer: melanoma and non-melanoma - both related to sun exposure.

Mole Patrol celebrates its fourth year of prevention and education during the Blue Angels Weekend. Last year's team conducted more than 500 screenings.
