GBSA U8s, Southern Legacy take second at Dolphin Splash Tournament
Jason Thompson/Gulf Breeze News Runners up The GBSA 8-under All Stars finished second to Pace in the Dolphin Splash Tournament Sunday at Shoreline Park. Both the Gulf Breeze 8-under All Stars and Southern Legacy took second place in their respective divisions at the Dolphin Splash last weekend at Shoreline Park. The tournament was a fundraiser for the GBHS varsity softball team.

Pace 14, Gulf Breeze 2: Lauren Stokes homered, while Toni Fuentealba singled and scored for Gulf Breeze in a loss to Pace.
Gulf Breeze 13, Navarre 1: Stokes doubled three times and scored three times, while Bella Brindley had three hits and two runs scored for Gulf Breeze in a win over Navarre.
Jason Thompson/Gulf Breeze News One time rivals, forever siblings For a little more than a hour Saturday, Nina (left) and older sister Kori Ewens were in opposite dugouts during the Dolphin Splash Tournament. Kori's Southern Legacy beat Nina's Tiger Point All Stars 10-2. Megan (Southern Legacy) and Marissa McDonald (Tiger Point) were also 'rivals' in the game. Reagan Raley, Hallie Hill and Kristin Goodroe all had two hits and two runs scored in the win.
Gulf Breeze 15, Pace Blue 2: Raley and Stokes went 3-for-3 and scored three times, while Brindley homered, tripled and scored twice in Gulf Breeze's win over Pace Blue.
Rainey Niles doubled, singled and scored twice, while Kamryn Hearn had two singles and two runs scored. Abby Jacobs and Goodroe both went 2-for-2 in the win.
Gulf Breeze 13, Pace Red 10: Stokes went 3-for-3 with a double and scored three times, while Brindley, Niles and Raley all went 3-for-3 and scored twice in a win over Pace Red Sunday.
Jacobs had two hits and scored twice, while Hill had two hits and scored once.
Pace Red 19, Gulf Breeze 11: Pace used a six run fourth inning to pull away from Gulf Breeze in the championship game.
Fuentealba had three hits and scored twice in the loss, while Stokes and Brindley both went 2-for-3 and scored twice. Niles and Hill both had two hits and scored once.
Tiger Point 15, Pace 10: Katie Player and Taylor Baker both hit three-run, inside the park home runs to lead Tiger Point past Pace.
Baker went 3-for-3 and scored three times, while Alex Branton, Danielle Hanks and Patty Pettway all went 2-for-3 and scored twice.
Sara Stolp scored twice for Tiger Point.
Tiger Point 11, Navarre 7: Baker went 3-for-3 again and scored three times in Tiger Point's win over Navarre.
Branton went 3-for-3, while Pettway and Danielle Hanks had two hits each. Stolp went 2-for-3 and scored twice.

Myrtle Grove 11, Gulf Breeze 10: Sam Karcher went 3-for-3 with three RBIs and scored twice in GBSA's loss to Myrtle Grove.
Kylie Finkbone went 3-for-3 and scored once, while Maddie Grace McCurdy, Blair Amberson and Mary Elliott all had two hits. Amberson scored three times, while Bayleigh Loggins scored twice.
Navarre 8, Gulf Breeze 4: Avery Curington, Amberson, Loggins and Elliott all scored for Gulf Breeze in a loss to Navarre.

Gulf Breeze 14, Tiger Point 14: Kristin Watts, Gena Ramos and Alyssa Scott all had two hits in Gulf Breeze's tie (due to time limit) with Tiger Point.
Ramos scored four times, while Watts scored three. Savannah Nixon and Mary Klisart both scored twice.
Olivia Printiss had three hits, including an RBI triple and a three run homer, for Tiger Point. Courtney Zak had two hits, while Jenny Watts, Lydia Ellington and Kalee Bogan all scored twice. Kayla Carroll had an RBI triple.
Pace Red 12, Tiger Point 1: Printiss singled and scored in the second for Tiger Point's lone run. Megan Benoit singled in the fourth for the team's only other hit.
Tiger Point 14, Gulf Breeze 4: Watts went 3-for-3 and scored twice to lead Tiger Point over Gulf Breeze.
Zak went 2-for-3 and scored three times, while Sydney Ezelle went 2-for-3 and scored twice and Carroll 2-for-3 and scored once.
Watts, Ramos, Nixon and Mary Miles Hitchcock all scored for Gulf Breeze.
Northeast Pensacola Gold 15, Gulf Breeze 7: NEP put up five in the first and six in the second to beat Gulf Breeze. Watts singled and scored twice, as did Aspen Lee.
Tiger Point 10, Navarre 8: Ezelle, Watts and Printiss all scored twice for Tiger Point over Navarre. Ellington went 2-for-3 and scored once in the win.
Pace Red 11, Tiger Point 0: Watts and Jordan Brayton both walked, representing Tiger Point's only baserunners in a loss to Pace Red.

Southern Legacy 7, Astros 1: A five-run fourth was the difference in Southern Legacy's win over the Astros.
Kasey Landfair's three-run triple was the key hit in the fourth inning. She scored twice in the win, as did Kellie Krueger. Taylor Mitchell singled and scored once.
Southern Legacy 7, Columbus (Ga.) Storm 0: A three-run double by Kori Ewens in a four run fourth helped Southern Legacy put away the Storm.
Maggie Swinford, Mitchell and Landfair all singled and scored once.
Southern Legacy 3, Storm 2 (eight innings): Adrian Culpepper drove in the game-tying run before Krueger scored the game-winner over the Storm. Culpepper went 2-for-4, while Swinford had two singles.
Southern Legacy 10, Tiger Point 2: Megan McDonald went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs scored in Southern Legacy's win over Tiger Point. Culpepper and Krueger also had two hits and two runs scored, while Ewens scored twice.
Willow Evetts and Shaye Robinson scored runs for Tiger Point.
Astros 4, Southern Legacy 2: Southern Legacy dropped its first game of the tournament to the Astros.
Culpepper and Mitchell both singled and scored in the fourth, with Landfair driving in one of those runs with a single. Mitchell went 2-for-2 in the loss, while Swinford singled in the fourth for the team's only other hit.
Southern Legacy 11, Storm 2: Breezy Paulus went 2-for-3 with three RBIs as Southern Legacy eliminated the Storm.
Krueger, Ewens and McDonald all had two hits, while Mitchell and Landfair both scored twice. Ewens also scored two runs in the win.
Astros 5, Southern Legacy 4: The Astros rallied from 4-0 down with two in the third and fourth and one in the fifth.
Krueger went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored. Amanda Curington tripled and scored a run, while Mitchell singled and scored off a Paulus single.
Milton 8, Tiger Point 0: Robinson's one out single in the fourth was the only hit for Tiger Point in a loss to Milton.
Milton 10, Tiger Point 0: Jordan Elliott's one out triple in the third was the only hit for Tiger Point in a loss to Milton.
Storm 12, Tiger Point 0: Marissa McDonald's leadoff double in the second was the only hit for Tiger Point in a loss to the Storm.
