GBHS wins Rafferty Cup again
      GBHS' strong showing in spring sports was enough for them to repeat as Rafferty Cup champions, it was announced last week. Gulf Breeze edged rival Catholic by 14 points (125.9- 112) to win the Cup, for the area's top athletic program, for the second straight year.

Dolphin football in jamboree tonight
      The weather held up long enough Friday for the Gulf Breeze Dolphin football team to get its final scrimmage in before tonight's jamboree in Milton. The scrimmage was also the first for presumptive starting quarterback Michael Mann, who had spent most of spring football with the Dolphin baseball team.

GBHS honors strong spring season with award banquets
      Gulf Breeze High sports teams celebrated arguable its best spring ever with their awards banquet, most of which took place last week. Baseball The Dolphin baseball team celebrated its historymaking season with their awards banquet May 18 at St. Ann's Catholic Church.

      GBHS baseball coach Randy Renfroe and softball coach Sean Tomey were named Panhandle Sports Broadcasting Coaches of the Year last week.

Golf truly is a game that every BODY can enjoy
      With Memorial Day still fresh on my mind, I cannot help but think of and appreciate those in the Armed Forces who made the ultimate sacrifice for the county we love. It also brings to mind another class of veterans - the disabled. They too have given a great deal in service of our country and should be recognized.

Youth lacrosse comes to Shoreline Park this weekend
      Local residents can catch a glimpse of GBSA's newest sport this weekend at Shoreline Park. The Gulf Breeze lacrosse program will host a two-day tournament, starting at 9:30 a.m. Saturday. Teams from Ocean Springs, Miss. and Birmingham, Ala. will also be in action.

GBSA volleyball registration now until June 15
BRIEFS
      Girls in third through ninth grade can register to play GBSA volleyball until June 15. A late fee will be assessed after June 15. Registrations forms are available at the Rec Center. For more information, call Teresa Hawthorne at 934-5140 or email gbsa@mchsi.com.
