Responsible decisions will save money
      This year, Florida faced the worst budget environment in the state's history. With an unprecedented deficit, an uncertain economic outlook and the coming federal stimulus flameout, the budget process took a few days longer than normal to conclude. It was more important to make the right decisions than the quick ones.

EIW event shows area loves our veterans

      On May 15, as part of Military Appreciation Month, nearly 100 veterans descended upon the Pensacola Bay Area to participate in the inaugural Escarosa Independence Weekend (EIW). Our Pensacola-based nonprofit, the Independence Fund (www.independencefund.org), was the event sponsor and funded the travel and expenses for all the veterans who came.
