Pelicans open series against Grand Prairie

The Pensacola Pelicans open a three game series against the Grand Prairie Air Hogs on Friday at 6:35 p.m. at Pelican Park. The Saturday and Sunday games are at 6:05 p.m.

Join the EAAA for fun night under the stars

The Escambia Amateur Astronomers Association will host a night under the stars beginning at 7 p.m. at the Gulfside Pavilion on Pensacola Beach.

Other Summer Sidewalk Star Gazes will take place on: June 26 and 27, July 24 and 25, August 28 and 29 and September 25 and 26.

Milton hosts Santa Rosa County Extension Expo on Saturday

The Expo takes place at the Santa Rosa County Extension Office from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

This year's Expo will feature presentations by Extension faculty, garden tours, youth activities, a diagnostic plant clinic and lots of interactive displays.

Museum host 2nd Annual 'Go Fly Zone'

Discover the magic of flight at the 2nd Annual "Go Fly Zone" event from 10 a.m.- 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 30 at the National Naval Aviation Museum. Get into the "zone" with model aircraft demonstrations, live bird exhibitions, a paper airplane-making contest and more!

Visitors will also have a chance to climb inside a real F/A-18 Hornet cockpit, grab the controls and imagine taking off towards the clouds in the pilot's seat of the same aircraft flown by the prestigious Blue Angels demonstration team. Guests are encouraged to bring cameras to capture these special moments.

The National Flight Academy team will be on hand to demonstrate one of their high-tech flight simulator prototypes. Be one of the first in the area to experience the excitement and wonder of flight while learning Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) principles.

Blue Angels practice aboard NAS Pensacola

The Blue Angels will practice on Tuesday, June 2 and Wednesday, June 3 at 8:30 a.m. aboard NAS Pensacola, near the National Museum of Naval Aviation. It's free and open to the public.

View the Blue Angels Practice Air Show from the top of the Pensacola Lighthouse. Closed toed shoes are required! Reservations required . Only 12 people can attend the show.

The Juan Sebastián de Elcano visits Pensacola

The Juan Sebastián de Elcano, the world's third largest tall ship, will visit Pensacola June 3 - 9, 2009 to help commemorate the 450th anniversary of the discovery of Pensacola.

The ship will dock at the Pensacola Port. The public is invited to view the entrance of the ship from the viewing area at Plaza de Luna. The Elcano will be open for free daily tours from June 3 to June 8.
