Lifeguards will monitor local national seashore beaches
      Gulf Islands National Seashore Superintendent Jerry Eubanks announced today that the Park is looking forward to having lifeguarded beaches open for the 2009 season at the following locations: Johnson Beach at Perdido Key, Opal Beach in the Santa Rosa Area (between Pensacola Beach and Navarre Beach), and Langdon Beach in the Fort Pickens Area.

Contractor wins bid to rebuild Navarre Beach Pier
      Santa Rosa County Commissioners voted to accept Ed Waters and Son Contracting's bid for the construction of the new Navarre Beach Fishing Pier. Construction could begin as early as April 30 with a possible completion date as early as May 2010.
