RE/MAX agents get '08 awards

Platinum Club: Sherlyn Waghalter Cat Country 98.7-FM is finalist for big honor The National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) announced the finalists for the 2009 Crystal Radio Awards competition. CatCountry 98.7 (WYCT-FM) of Pensacola is one of the nominees, and it is their second nomination in two years. Since 1987, the NAB Crystal Radio Awards have recognized radio stations for their outstanding year-round commitment to community service. Owner Dave Hoxeng will represent the station in Las Vegas on April 21. CatCountry 98.7 recently won two prestigious awards in the small market category from the Academy of Country Music: Radio Station of the Year, Personalities of the Year. These will be presented at the 44th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards on April 5.
'New Age Reporter,' a Web site created to promote all styles of New Age, ambient and world music, has ranked Dr. Michael Brant DeMaria's 'Siyotanka' CD No. 1 on its Top 100 chart for February 2009.
Last spring, Pensacola Little Theatre presented the world premiere of 'Siyotanka: The Legend of the Flute,' co-written by Dr. Stephen C. Lott and DeMaria. The 'Siyotanka' soundtrack album features 70 minutes of music composed and performed by DeMaria. Lott created the artwork that adorns the CD's cover. Both the play and the music were inspired by the Lakota legend about the discovery of the Native American wooden flute, called Siyotanka.
