The Gulf Breeze Dolphin baseball team had a roller coaster week last week, recording a non-district win sandwiched in between a pair of district losses. Navarre 10, Dolphins 3 The Raiders blew open a close game in Gulf Breeze on March 3, scoring five runs off only one hit - a two-run, two-out homer. More ... I've been fortunate enough to see a lot of great athletes don the Blue and Gold over the last seven years. Along the way, I've noticed some great opposing players, too - some of which, despite wearing 'enemy' colors, are good friends with many GBHS athletes. More ... The Gulf Breeze Lady Dolphin softball team bounced back from a nondistrict loss at Escambia to outscore a pair of district foes by a combined score of 31-0. More ... Several GBHS athletes either set, tied or broke their own records at the Panhandle Open meet Feb. 28 in Panama City. Emily Tryon broke her own meet record in the two mile, as did Tobie Bass in the shot put. Tryon's time of 11:56.83 was nearly three minutes faster than the second place finisher. More ... The Gulf Breeze Dolphin weightlifting team won two of 10 weight classes in a 63-27 loss to Navarre March 4 in the season opening meet for both teams. More ... The Gulf Breeze Lady Dolphin tennis team needed a win from senior Ali Gilmartin to stay unbeaten on the season. Gilmartin's 9-7 singles win over Lindsey Anders gave GBHS a 4-3 win over Washington March 4 and improved them to 6-0 on the season. More ... The senior members of the Lady Dolphin basketball team didn't have a chance to be honored during the regular season, so they were honored during the program's awards banquet on March. 1. Andy Atzhorn (GBHS Class of 2006) set a personal record in the 200 yard freestyle at a Last Chance Meet at the University of Georgia last weekend. A junior at the University of South Carolina, Atzhorn swam the 200 free in 1:38.48. More ... Brandon Aydelott drives to the basket in a recent Breeze Basketball game. Aydelott scored 27 points (including seven three-pointers) in a recent overtime win over the Ballers.
