Essays for Brown Memorial Scholarship due by April 1
Brown Applications are now being taken for the Sarah Brown Optimist Club Scholarship. Applicants should be humble about her many strengths, yet open to suggestion when looking to overcome obstacles.
He or she should be willing to see the goodness in others from all walks of life and individualistic in the approach toward friendships. He or she should possess a strong sense of self and be enthusiastic about the wonder of the road ahead.
Do you strive to keep your mind open to differences among people?
Do you value and appreciate varying opinions even if they are different from your own?
Are you an achiever, yet remain modest about what you have accomplished?
Are you thrilled at the prospect of what the future has in store for you?
If so, the Sarah Brown Optimist Club Scholarship would be proud to help you share these qualities with the world. We encourage you to write an essay detailing why you believe you are suited to carry your unique "Sarah Brown" qualities into the future.
Essays are due to Ms. Faklis or Mrs. Duffy by April 1.
The Sarah Brown Memorial Scholarship is open to all GBHS Jr. Optimist Club seniors.
Gulf Breeze Middle's Hoops for Heart March 19
GBMS will be having a charity event for Hoops for Heart on March 19. Students will compete in round robin tournament in PE.
The winning boys and girls teams will play a groups of teachers and staff from both the middle school and the elementary schools
Hoops for Heart will feature a half time show with various cheerleading groups, including "Oldie but goodie" GBMS teacher cheerleaders! Also, we will have a free throw competition for a gift certificate to a local store.
The event will begin at 6 p.m. in the GBHS gym. Admission is $3.
