Beach Chamber hosts 'Irish on the Island' celebration

Irish eyes will smile at the good times on Pensacola Beach during the Go Irish on the Island celebration March 13 through 17. The events begin on Friday the Thirteenth continue throughout the weekend culminating on March 17. The highlight of the celebration will be the annual St. Paddy's Day Pub Crawl which visits one dozen Beach locations beginning at 10 a.m. at Sidelines and ending at 6:15 p.m. at the Sandshaker.

The events include a Green Bikini Contest, Pour the Proper Pint competition, a re-enactment of Tim Finnegan's Wake, Catholic Mass, appearance by St. Patrick, lots of parties with live music and fine Irish fare.

c. Green Grillin' and Chillin' - Sandshaker, 2:30 to 6:30 sponsored by Budweiser. Acoustic band Lost Keys plays. Plenty of hot grilled food

d. Party with the Sailor - Sandshaker, 8:30 p.m. sponsored by Premier Beverage. Music by Miles from Coultrane

e. Paddy's Pot O'Gold Poker Party, Paddy O'Leary's, 3 p.m.

f.. Guinness Pouring Contest - Paddy O'Leary's, 5 p.m. Goldring will invite Bartenders from local pubs to compete to see who can pour the proper pint. Rules will be strictly adhered to for the 20 oz beer. Prizes. Cheering welcome & Music By Petty Cash at 9 p.m.
