The Habitat home that the Gulf Breeze United Methodist Church worked on in partnership with Navarre and St. Paul United Methodist Church is nearing completion. The final sod will be laid, and trees and shrubs planted prior to the dedication ceremony and celebration Saturday, March 14, at 1938 Diplomat Street, Gulf Breeze. To learn more, call 932-3594 Senior Pastor-designate Shane Stanford and his family will meet members of Gulf Breeze United Methodist Church on Sunday, March 15, at the Fairpoint Campus. The Stanfords will be introduced in all three Fairpoint services, and Shane will share a brief word. The family will be in The Courtyard between services to visit with as many people as possible given the time constraints. When the family arrives to begin their ministry (scheduled now for June 1) there will be a more formal reception. The youth of Gulf Breeze United Methodist Church will sponsor a Pancake Breakfast Sunday, March 15 at the Soundside Campus. Come to church hungry and help support our Honduras Mission trip. The youth will be selling pancake/sausage breakfasts before each service for a nominal fee of $5. Want to be a part of a new surfing ministry? GBUMC will be holding a meeting Monday, March 16, at 6:30 p.m. at the Fairpoint Campus, Room 6 for anyone and everyone interested in surfing. Please come and share your ideas. Register at the Fairpoint or Soundside Campus Games will be played at Soundside between March 31- May 12. There will be a church league for weekend warriors who haven't touched a basketball in months but just want the exercise. These games will be on Thursday nights at 6, 7, or 8 p.m. The competitive league for those who are serious about competing will play on Tuesday nights at 6, 7, or 8 p.m. Registration is $400 per team. St. Ann Catholic St. Ann Catholic Church will celebrate Wednesday morning Masses during Lent at 6:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. The Knights of Columbus will hold a fish fry each Friday at 5 p.m. Stations of the Cross will be observed each Friday at 6:30 p.m. The Knights of Columbus Wednesday Dinner will be at 6 p.m., and the menu will be spaghetti and meatballs. This schedule will remain in effect throughout Lent until Holy Week. St. Paul Methodist St. Paul United Methodist Church Preschool in Gulf Breeze is now registering children 3 and 4 years old. St. Francis Episcopal St. Francis of Assisi Episcopal Church in Gulf Breeze is busy planning its Fifth Annual Mid Summer Night Party, scheduled for Saturday, June 13, from 6 to 8 p.m. The party will feature a Silent Auction Fundraiser that gives guests the opportunity to bid on an array of exciting items amid a wine, cheese, heavy hors d'oeuvres and delicious dessert reception. The Silent Auction from 6-7:30 p.m. features travel packages, original art, sailing and fishing adventures, local restaurant gift certificates, and much more. Winners will be announced immediately following. There will be plenty of fun with door prizes, chance-ticket drawings to win entire tables of fabulous items and the usual popular Wine Toss. General admission or sponsor's tickets are available. General admission tickets are $20 and include food and beverage; sponsor tickets are $30 and include food/beverage as well as eight chance tickets for drawings! Christ Church Music at Christ Church continues its 34th season of presenting fine music to Pensacola audiences with two concerts featuring the Great Kney Organ, one of the most significant pipe organs on the Gulf Coast. The first event features Andrew Peters, one of the rising young artists in today's organ music world, on Sunday, March 22, at 3 p.m. at Christ Church, located at Wright and Palafox Streets in Pensacola. The concert is free and open to the public; a $5 donation is suggested. Currently organist/director at Second Presbyterian Church in St. Louis, Peters alo represents a "new generation" of artists performing at Christ Church. One of Andrew Peters' hallmarks is his highly imaginative programming, including music from the Renaissance to the present day, and including music that can engage and delight the audience. |
