Junior League to host annual Bargain Sale

The Junior League of Pensacola will host its annual Bargain Sale, to be held at the Hadji Shrine Temple, 800 West Nine Mile Road in Pensacola, on March 13-14. Find great items at affordable prices.

General Admission hours are 2pm-6pm with a $1.00 admission.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the Junior League of Pensacola's community projects which are aimed to improve the lives of children in the foster care system throughout Northwest Florida.

Ballet Pensacola offers something for everyone

Ballet Pensacola takes the stage at the Pensacola Cultural Center for Reaching Beyond, a mixed-repertory evening of dance works that features something for everyone. Performances are: Friday, March 13 and Saturday, March 14 at 7:30 p.m.

Go Irish on the Island Celebration begins

The five-day celebration on Pensacola Beach begins with a Friday the 13th Party and culminates with the annual Pub Crawl on St. Patrick's Day, Tuesday, March 17.

A Corned Beef and Cabbage cook off and a Green Bikini Contest promise to delight all.

'Gulf Breeze Celebrates the Arts' this weekend

The 15th annual Gulf Breeze Celebrates the Arts 2009 festival will be March 14-15 at the parking lot at Gulf Breeze High School.

The popular two-day event, sponsored by Gulf Breeze Arts Inc. and the City of Gulf Breeze, will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, March 14, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, March 15.

Judging will begin at 9:15 a.m. on Saturday, March 14.

In addition, a Gulf Breeze Arts Inc. Members Show will be held in the high school Band room each day.

Dogs celebrate St. Pawtrick's Day

3 Dogs and a Chick Dog Bakery and Specialty Shop announces their next doggy social, St Pawtrick's Day party! Saturday, March 14 from 1-3 p.m., bring your little leprechaun to a wee party at 3 Dogs & a Chick to celebrate the wearin' o' the green!

Attending dogs will have a barking good time playing games such as bobbing for hotdogs and musical sit. Complimentary doggie snacks and human goodies will be served.

PJC hosts Pensacola Guitar Ensemble

Pensacola Junior College and the University of West Florida present the 2009 Spring Recital of the Pensacola Guitar Ensemble and the Pensacola Guitar Orchestra.

The free concert is 7:30 p.m. Saturday, March 14, at the Ashmore Fine Arts Auditorium, Building 8, on the Pensacola campus.

The program includes works for voice and guitar, violin and guitar, solo guitar, guitar duets, trios, quartets and guitar orchestra.

Maxine Maxwell performs at PJC

Maxine Maxwell performs her one-woman drama about African- American women struggling for freedom in the Ashmore Fine Arts Auditorium at 7:30 p.m. Her journey through history covers around 150 years and explores the turning points in the lives of five African-American women.

Seville Quarter hosts St. Patrick's Day Party

Celebrate St. Patrick's Day downtown at Seville Quarter with a full day of events. The fun starts at 11 a.m. with an Irish themed lunch with Irish Stew, Corned Beef and Cabbage.

There will be Nickel Green Beer from 4-5 p.m. in Lili Marlene's. Throughout the day there will be specials on Irish Beers and Ales and lots of Irish Whiskey to go around. The fun will continue with an "Irish Jig" contest in the End O'Alley Bar and "Sexiest Redhead" contest where the audience is the judge. Grab your Shelagh and come downtown to Seville Quarter, home of Rosie O'Grady's.

Pub Crawl wraps up St. Patrick's Day events on the beach

On the fifth and final day of the Go Irish on the Island Celebration on Pensacola Beach, the annual Pub Crawl wraps up the festivities.

The following is the schedule for the daylong party:
