'Truth Project' begins at GBUMC

"The Truth Project" begins at the Gulf Breeze United Methodist Church on Jan. 9 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Fairpoint Campus Lecture Hall.

A recent study revealed only 9 percent of Christians have a Biblical worldview. The Truth Project is a 13-week, DVDbased study that discusses in great detail the relevance and importance of living the Christian worldview daily life. David Leslie will facilitate this study.

A new "Deal Breaker Message Series" will be held from Jan. 11 through Feb. 22 at both the Fairpoint and Soundside campuses. Deal Breakers is an exciting new sermon series in which pastors will be taking on the hard questions people ask about faith and religion, questions that are "deal breakers" for many people.

In addition to the morning message, there will be an evening class led by Rev. Neil Epler that will enable people to explore each subject in greater depth. If you have friends or family members who have questions about faith, encourage them to attend worship with you for this series. On Jan. 11, the sermon topic at both campuses will be "Can people from other religions go to heaven?"

Naomi's Table, a support group for widows, will meet Sunday, Jan. 11 at 5 p.m. in the Fairpoint Campus Fellowship Hall. Join us for dinner as we start the New Year with hope, support, encouragement, a great dinner and some surprises. If you are visiting for the first time, please know you will be welcomed with love, understanding and compassion. For more information, call Gail at 932-3594.

The Senior Adult Ministries' Sharing and Caring luncheon will be Monday, Jan. 12, at 11 a.m. at the Fairpoint Campus Fellowship Hall. The menu will be southern fried pork chops, black-eyed peas, collard greens, baked sweet potatoes, corn bread, and banana pudding. The cost of the luncheon is $3. Maxine Gray will be there to entertain with organ music while you dine. No reservation is necessary. For more information, call Terrye at 932-3594.

All programs of the church are open to the public. For more information on these or any other activity of the church, call 932-3594.
