Saturday is family sunset supper and swim at Gulf Islands National Seashore

Superintendent Jerry Eubanks announced a new free, summer evening program in the Naval Live Oak Area in Gulf Breeze.

On Saturday, July 26 and August 16, 5:30- 6:30 p.m., visitors and their children are invited to spend the evening for a short hike, picnic on the beach, and shallow wading on the north shore of Naval Live Oaks in Gulf Breeze.

The half- mile round trip hike will follow a soft sandy trail down to Pensacola Bay where kids can explore the underwater world of the National Seashore.

"What better way to spend quality weekend time with friends and family?" said Ranger Beckie Mims who will lead the program.

This area is a peaceful oasis away from the surrounding bustling cities and early evening is the perfect time to explore the park.

All ages are welcome! Park at the North Bay Trail parking area (park outside of "NLO Compound.") Everyone is encouraged to wear a swimsuit under clothes and water shoes. Bring your own light dinner and beach blanket. The park requests that visitors "Pack in/pack out". There are no facilities.
