      I never had the honor of knowing Richard T. (Dick) Smith, the first Parks & Recreation Director in Gulf Breeze. But after attending last Friday's ceremony during which a memorial was dedicated in the late Smith's honor at Wayside Park, I felt like I had known him forever.

Poor management was Moe's big problem
      I think it a big mistake to blame the economy for the closing of the local Moe's Southwest Grill restaurant. This restaurant always had lots of people. Many made the drive from Gulf Breeze proper businesses during the lunch hour.
