Wave wins Tiger Point Shootout The Gulf Breeze 10-under Wave won the inaugural Tiger Point Shootout April 13 at Tiger Point Park, their fourth tournament win (out of five) this season. Wave 9, Pace Hurricanes 6: The Wave needed a three-run sixth inning to edge the Hurricanes in the championship game. Julian Gordon, who went 2- for-4 with three runs scored, hit a two run single in the fifth inning, while Zane Gill hit a two-run single in the sixth inning. Wade Niles went 3-for-4 with a double and three RBIs, while Matthew deMahy scored twice. Wave 11, Tiger Point Marlins 2: Gill had two hits and two runs scored, while Jacob Box struck out five in three innings in the Wave's win over the Marlins. Amberson and Gill both had four RBIs, while Gordon scored twice and drove in one. Niles scored three times in the win, while Scotty McGaugh doubled and scored once for the Marlins. Brady Hammel went 2-for-2 and scored once, while Matt Cronin went 2-for-2. Wave 11, Marlins 4: Adam Colston went 3-for-4 with two doubles, three RBIs and three runs scored as the Wave beat the Marlins. Niles hit a three-run triple, while Sam Joyce and Gordon both scored twice. Tyler Phelps drove in two runs, while Xavier Perera, Tommy Hegarty and McGaugh all had two hits for the Marlins. Jacob Cross scored once in the loss, while Micah Patterson, Harrison Fleming and Devin Tigano all had one hit. Wave 6, Pace Hurricanes 5: Zane Gill's triple started a fiverun third inning as the Wave had to rally to beat the Hurricanes. Joyce singled and scored, while Niles, Gordon, Colston and Kendall Gallagher all scored runs in the win. Jace Amberson's single was the team's only other hit. GB 11s, 12s take second The GBSA 11-under and 12- under All Stars both took second in their respective brackets. Navarre 12s 4, Gulf Breeze 0: The Dolphin 12-year-olds were held without a hit in a loss to Navarre. Tristen Hicks, John Forrest Ellison and Connor Crooke all walked in the second inning for the team's only baserunners. Destin Tide 11s 14, Gulf Breeze 6: The Tide scored 10 runs in the bottom of the fourth to pull away in the championship game. Sam Covell was hit by a pitch in the first, while Nick Henry and Troy Stringfellow both singled and scored. Cole Brown walked, while Jacob Kubik singled and Cole Nitterauer doubled and scored in the fourth inning. GBSA 12s, Tiger Point 3: Mitchell Robbins hit a three-run homer in Gulf Breeze's win over Tiger Point. Brandon Aydelott, Ben Davis and Robbie McLin all singled and scored twice, while Crooke scored twice. Chandler Foxworth, Tom Bixler and Zach Wilson all scored for Tiger Point. Dolphin 11s 8, Buccaneers 7: Covell went 3-for-4 and scored once, while Riley Nolan went 2-for- 3 and scored once in the Dolphins' win over the Buccaneers. Tide 11, Dolphins 11s 5: Kubik scored twice, while Zak Dobar doubled and scored once in the loss to the Tide. Nick Henry singled for the team's only other hit, while Covell and Stringfellow both scored once. Dolphin 12s 11, Tide 3: Davis went 2-for-2 with a triple and scored twice, while Nick Duggar went 2-for-3 with a double and scored once as the 12s beat the Tide. Brian Garbell scored twice, while Crooke doubled and scored once. Robbins, McLin and Hicks all singled and scored once. Tiger Point 13, Hurricanes 4: C.J. Nelson doubled, homered, drove in three and scored four times to lead Tiger Point over the Buccaneers. Foxworth and Zach Wilson both scored twice in the win. Navarre 10, Tiger Point 2: Kale Jarvis and Nelson both scored in the loss to Navarre. Dolphin 11s 15, Raiders 13: Kubik went 2-for-4 and scored three times, while Brown scored three times in the 11's win over the Raiders. Covell, Dobar and Stringfellow all scored twice in the win. Hurricanes 8, Dolphins 12s 6: McLin doubled and scored in the loss to the Hurricanes, while Aydelott and Matt Hawthorne both singled and scored. Tiger Sharks third in 9- under division The Tiger Point Tiger Sharks won their first two games before losing in the elimination portion of the tournament. Tiger Sharks 5, GBSA Red Sox 4: Jack Martin's single scored Hayden Essary for the game-winning run. Martin went 2-for-3 and scored once, while R.J. Philips tripled and scored once. Colton Printiss and Stephen Huggins both scored for the Tiger Sharks, while Parker Baynes doubled and scored twice for the Red Sox. Kendall Gallagher went 2- for-2, while William Welch and Tristan Covell both scored once. Tiger Sharks 6, Emerald Coast Tide 5: Huggins struck out eight in three innings and went 2-for-3 with a triple in the Tiger Sharks' win over the Tide. James Parsons struck out five in three innings and went 2-for- 3 and scored once. Martin had two hits and scored once, while Bryan Richards and Trevor Robinson both scored once. Barracudas 15, Red Sox 3: Baynes doubled and scored once, while Welch and Reddon McLaurine both singled and scored once for the Red Sox. Pace Tide 11, Red Sox 9: The Red Sox left the bases loaded to end their game with the Tide. Baynes went 2-for-2 and scored twice for the Red Sox, while Covell and Welch both scored twice. McLaurine singled and scored twice, while Bo Fabbro doubled and scored once. Barracudas 9, Tiger Sharks 2: Martin singled and scored, while Huggins walked and scored in the Tiger Sharks' loss to the Barracudas. Parsons went 2-for-2, while Philips went 1-for-2. Tigers, Storm compete in 8-under division The Tiger Point Tigers and the Gulf Breeze Storm comprised half of the 8-under division, which was won by the Navarre Raiders over the Bill Bond Wildcats. Wildcats 12, Tigers 3 Wildcats 11, Storm 4: Connor Thompson, Gavin Mayes and Luke Stringfellow all had two hits in the Storm's loss to the Wildcats. Daniel Green, Luke Ellis, Brent Williams and Thomas Goodroe all singled and scored for the Storm. Raiders 11, Tigers 2: Bobby Murphy homered for the Tigers, while Nicky Myers went 2-for-2 and scored once. Sam Carpenter and Tekoah Roby had hits in the loss. Raiders 17, Storm 9: Deems Edlund and Matthew Hawkins hit back-to-back home runs for the Storm in their loss to the Raiders. Both of them scored twice, while Williams, Thompson, Josh Smith, Nick McCain, Mayes and Ellis all scored once. Raiders 14, Tiger Point 3: Myers hit a three-run homer, scoring Murphy and Dylan Brayton, in the Tigers' loss to the Raiders. Josh Turnipseed and Trevor Hegarty had hits in the loss |
