Florida Sportsman Membership meeting Saturday

The local chapter of the Florida Sportsman Association will hold its membership meeting Saturday at the Shoal River Shooting Center in Crestview.

The meeting, will include rifle and pistol range, as well as five-stand, wobble trap and a sporting clay course by National Sporting Clays Champion Larry Orr. Sportsmen can shoot 25 clay targets for $8.

A fish fry, including cheese grits, baked beans, cole claw and drinks, is only $5. For more information, call 479-7452.

GBHS QB Club seat renewals underway

GBHS Quarterback Club is offering renewals to those who had reserved seats during the 2007 season. Seats are $50 each and renewals will run through May 1.

Sharks Golf Classic April 27

The Gulf Coast Sharks Golf Classic will be held on Sunday, April 27 at The Club at Hidden Creek. Registration and lunch starts at 11 am, with a 1 pm shotgun start.

The tournament is a fourperson scramble with an entry fee is $75 per person. There are also sponsorship packages still available.

Optimist Fishing Rodeo May 17-18

The 33rd annual Gulf Breeze Optimist Club Annual Family Fishing Rodeo is May 17-18 at Shoreline Park South in Gulf Breeze. Rodeo hours are 5 a.m. Saturday to 5 p.m. Sunday.

Prizes and awards will be given in two categories. Category 1 includes Amberjack, Grouper, Dolphin, King Mackeral, Ling Cobia, Red Snapper, Spanish Mackerl, Trigger, Tuna and Wahoo. Category 2 is Blue Fish, Bonita, Croaker, Flounder, Lady Fish, Ingo Snapper, Pompano, Sheepshead, Speckled Trout and White Trout.

Other awards will be given to Junior Angler Lady Angler, Master Angler and Pin Fish (under age six.)

Entry fee is $20. All proceeds will be used for programs to benefit local youth . For more information, call Ray Shane at either 916-2527 or 324-0071.
