LeaP offers free 'green' kits to area residents

The Leadership Pensacola (LeaP) Class of 2008 will distribute free Green Kits on April 19, 2008 in various locations around Pensacola. Giving out the kits is part of the "Live Green Escambia" LeaP project, which is aimed at increasing recycling efforts countywide. Each free kit will include a recycling bin, compact fluorescent light bulb, reusable grocery bag and literature about conservation and recycling.

Residents can use the bin to take their recyclable materials to any of 17 recycling stations across the county. A complete list of Escambia County recycling locations can be found online at http://www.co.escambia.fl.us/departments/solid_ wastemanag/Recycling-dropoffsites.php

The LeaP Class extends a special thank you to our generous project sponsors: Cox Communications, Cox Conserves, Pen Air Federal Credit Union, Gulf Power, Cat Country 98.7, Baskerville-Donovan, Morette Company Lamar Advertising, Aylstock, Witkin, Kreis and Overholtz. Baptist Health Care, ESP, Gulf Coast Community Bank, Harvesters Federal Credit Union, Merrill Lynch, PODS, Rodney Rich and Company, Sacred Heart Health System and Sandy Sansing.

LeaP is an ongoing program facilitated by the Pensacola Bay Area Chamber of Commerce whose mission is to develop and foster community minded leaders. For more information on the 2008 LeaP Class Project, visit www.livegreenescambia. com
