Van Tassel wins 12-under softball thriller

Paige Van Tassel scored three times, the last of which gave Van Tassel the a 13-12 win over the Tiger Point Cougars in recent GBSA 12-under softball action.

Sage Dunne, Selena Lillo, Meredith Townsend and Vanessa Holding all scored twice in the win, while Jesse Sweet, Emily Senn, Olivia Fry and Beckie Schramm all scored twice for the Cougars.

Melting Pot 11, Cobras 8: Emily Lively had two hits, including a home run, in the Melting Pot's win over the Cobras.

Aspen Lee, Brooke Reynolds and Mary Klisnet all scored twice in the win.

RAS 11, Hurricanes 1: Alex Karcher, Taylor Paegga and Sara Spillers scored three times as RAS beat the Hurricanes.

Sage Dunne scored for the Hurricanes.

Hurricanes 8, RAS 6: Meredith Townsend and Reghan Elliott both scored twice for the Hurricanes, while Taylor Pacyga had two hits and two runs scored for RAS.

Melting Pot 9, Hurricanes 6: Emily Lively had two hits, including a home run, and Alexa Johnson had two hits and two runs scored as the Melting Pot beat the Hurricanes.

Paige Van Tassel scored twice in the loss, while Caitlin Chapman had two hits and a run scored

U10 softball

Tiger Point Jets 17, Marlins 9: Susie Harris and Riley Robinson both scored three times for the Jets, while Emily Simmering and Olivia Printiss both scored twice.

Megan Hawkins and Kiersten Edlund both scored twice for the Marlins.

Aces 12, Tiger Point Panthers 0: Abby Gubernat had three hits and scored once, while Kristen Watts, Alyssa Scott, Lia Lampone and Alli Tate scored all twice in the win for the Aces.

Amber Hamilton and Alexis Johnson had base hits for the Panthers.

Watts 13, Smiley Face Marlins 7: Kiersten Edlund and Brook Ostrander had three hits each in the loss for the Marlins.

Tiger Point 2 17, Wright 1: Lauren Matthews, Sydney Ezelle, Destini Ferraro and Megan Benoit all scored three times in the win for Tiger Point.

Sydney Wright scored the lone run for Wright.

ACS 13, Edlund 1: Alyssa Scott and Abby Gubernat both scored three times in the win for ACS. Kristen Watts, Lia Lampone and Olivia Hepworth both scored twice, while Megan Hawkins scored the lone run for Edlund.

One of Lampone's hit was a home run.

Edlund 19, Wright 16: Brook Ostrander and Emily Hoelflich both scored three times in the win for Edlund. Megan Hawkins, Kiersten Edlund, Kaitlyn Prezioso, Jennifer Lennon, Carleigh Cleveland and Starfish Holk all scored twice.

Ashley Craven scored three times for Wright, while Zoe Wight, Madison Scifo, Mary Miles Hitchcock and Cassidy Rothfeder all scored twice.

Tom White 6, ACS 5: Lia Lampone had three hits and a run scored, while Kristen Watts had two hits and two runs scored in the loss for ACS. Abby Gubernat and Kylie Finkbone both had two hits.

16-under softball

Lewis 11, Surf Burger 1: Kaitlyn Gifford, Sarah Lewis and Caroline Ennis all scored twice for Lewis.

Haley Bohannon homered for Surf Burger. Anna Bailey singled for their only other hit.

Rookie League Baseball

Wirth 12, Owens 10: Chance Napier had four hits and scored twice for Wirth, while Trenton Lamar had three hits and three runs scored.

Kell Jackson and Jesse Grant both scored twice, while Spencer Wirth had three base hits and Kevin Dorf two hits.

Ian Baker and Nathan Herrick both scored three times for Owens, while Richard Earle and Trey Owens had two hits each. Jake Molina and Josh Smith both scored twice in the loss.

Brandon 11, Mayes 10: Jacob Brandon had three hits and three runs scored in the win for Brandon. Patrick Smith scored twice, while Nick McCain and Brandon Hunt both had two hits.

ReMax Raiders 15, Goodroe 13: Brent Williams and Alec Grimes both had three hits and three runs scored in the win for the ReMax Raiders.

Chris Bougher, Sean Hogan, Vinny Savarino and Jacob Thomas all had two hits and two runs scored, while Ian Vaught had two hits and a run scored.

Connor Thompson had four hits and two runs scored for Goodroe, while Justin Fruitticher and Matthew Hitpas had three each each. Braden Massey, Joshua Stillman, Bren Bodi and Chase Walsh all had two hits each.

Mayes 15, Barrineau 11

Brandon 18, Owens 3: Coleman Burtt, Nick McCain and Matthew Hawkins had three hits and three runs scored in the win for Brandon. Jacob Brandon, Chandler Burtt, Jacob Martin and Patric Seigh had three hits and two runs scored. Peter Seigh had two hits in the win.

Garza 9, Wirth 0

Major League Baseball

Curington 7, Hawthorne 4: Cole Brown scored three times in the win for Curington, while Nick Duggar had two hits. Zak Dobar and Derick Krepp had a hit and a run scored.

Nathan Davis and Kevin Price had a hit and a run scored for Hawthorne, while William Lambert and Mitchell Robbins both scored twice.

Crooke 11, Gulf Breeze News 6: Tristen Hicks had three hits and two runs scored in the win, while Ben Davis and John Forrest Ellison had two runs scored. Matt Ryan scored twice for Crooke.

Sam Covell had three hits and a run scored for Gulf Breeze News, while Robbie McLin had two this, including a home run.

Hawthorne 3, Crooke 2: Mitchell Robbins doubled twice and scored twice in the win for Hawthorne. Nathan Davis had two hits in the win, while Ben Davis had two hits and scored once for Crooke. Connor Crooke had two hits and two run scored in the loss.

Senior League Baseball

Taylor 11, Flores 10: Preston Sellers scored three times for Taylor, while Halston Michaud and Blake Bidwell scored twice.

Bobby Radcliffe had two hits and three RBIs in the win, while Austin Droogsma had two hits, three runs scored and four RBIs in the win for Taylor. Chance Wallis and Westin Demotts both had two hits in the loss for Flores.

Flores 12, Tiger Point Cardinals 2: Dane Locklin scored three times in the win, while Austin Droogsma had two hits and two runs scored. Chance Wallis scored twice in the win, while Michael Robinson scored in the loss. Hunter Torraca had a base hit for the Cardinals.

Burke 10, Higley 4: Trevor Johnson had three hits and three runs scored for Burke, while Devin Jones, Blake Meredeth, James Mozur and Kyle Koester had two hits.

T.J. Baughn, Mark Higley, Maury Goldstein and Patrick Murphy all scored runs for Higley.
