Lifters compete at sectionals

Six members of the Gulf Breeze weightlifting meet competed at the Section 1-A meet Saturday in Panama City.
Eric Agricola took third place in the heavyweight division, lifting a total of 630 pounds between the bench press and the clean and jerk.
Jonathon Stephens, in the 169-pound weight class, was fourth with 515 pounds, while Seth Hewerdine, E.J. Troup and Brandon Van Camp all finished fifth.
Hewerdine, in the 139-pound class, lifted 365 pounds; Troup, in the 199-pound class, lifted 475 pounds; while Van Camp, in the 219-pound class, lifted 485 pounds.
Connor Barretta, in the 119- pound class, lifted 250 pounds. Chris Barretta and Erik Mims, who qualified for sectionals in the 129 and 154 pound class, respectively, did not compete.
Each of the nine sectional winner state-wide, followed by the next nine finishers statewide, qualify for the 1A state meet April 18 at Embry Riddle University in Daytona Beach.
