Migratory birds day is Saturday

Gulf Islands National Seashore will host an International Migratory Bird Day program from 8 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 12 at the Naval Live Oaks Visitor Center.

Lynn Ogden, an environmental educator, ornithologist and Adjunct Professor of Biology at PJC, will give an introduction to birding and binoculars on the deck behind the visitor center. A spotting scope will be set up there for viewing shorebirds. In addition, Ogden will lead an hour-long walk to look for migrating neotropical song birds and resident woodland birds.
