Organ donor event planned

In recognition of National Donate Life Month, Florida Tissue Services will hold a special event to celebrate the lives of organ and tissue donors and to honor their families on Friday, April 11. It will be held at The New World Landing in Pensacola.

Healthcare professionals, transplant recipients, donor families, and friends will gather and speak during this tribute to those who have given others a second chance at life. During the program, the names of donors from 2000 - 2007 will be read, and organ and tissue recipients will light candles in their memory.

Hospice takes part in Healthcare Decision Day

Covenant Hospice will be taking part in the inaugural National Healthcare Decision Day set for Wednesday, April 16. On this day, throughout the country, healthcare providers, professionals, chaplains, attorneys and others will participate in a massive effort to highlight the importance of advance healthcare decision-making.

Baptist hosts stroke seminar

Baptist Healthcare will be sponsoring several stroke workshops. The first will be April 11 at Baptist Medical Park Navarre, 8888 Navarre Parkway, Medical Office Building, 2nd floor Conference Room at 8:30 a.m. with light refreshments.
