Dolphin JV team wins Crusader Invitational

Jason Thompson/Gulf Breeze News Tourney champs The Dolphin JV team won the Crusader Invitational Saturday with an 8-2 win over Tate in the title game. Sophomore Thomas Dorsey threw a complete game fourhitter with 12 strikeouts to lead the Dolphin junior varsity baseball team to an 8-2 win over Tate in the final of the Crusader Invitational Saturday at Catholic.

Dorsey walked only one batter and threw 63 of his 97 pitches for strikes.

Gulf Breeze scored single runs in the second and third innings before scoring four in the fourth. Stephen Robbins singled with the bases loaded in the second to score Isaac Davis, who singled. Tyler Boylan reached on a fielder's choice and scored on a hit and run single by Cruz Lee in the third.

Lee, who went 2-for-3 and scored once, singled with two outs in the fourth to score Tyler McGee and Boylan, who singled to bring home Robin Hoffpauir. Davis singled to score Lee.

Gulf Breeze added two more in the fifth. Josh Suelflow walked and scored on a infield single by Hoffpauir, who went 2-for-4 and scored twice.

Adam Gary went 3-for-4 for the Dolphins, who won the tournament for the third time in four years.

Dolphin JV 8, Catholic 3

The Dolphins needed a fiverun fourth inning for a come from behind win over the host Crusaders March 26.

Boylan went 3-for-3 with two runs scored, while Josh Suelflow went 2-for-2 and scored once. Lee doubled and scored twice in the win.

Ben Lively allowed only three hits in five innings, striking out six.

Tyler McGee and Robbins combined on a three-hitter as the Dolphins scored 12 unanswered runs to beat the Tigers March 24.

Hoffpauir went 3-for-4 with a double and scored twice, while Boylan went 2-for-3 with a run scored. Adam Gary went 2-for- 4, while Suelflow scored four times and Robbins twice.

McGee allowed two hits and one walk with three strikeouts in three innings, while Robbins struck out four and allowed only one hit to get the win.
