Cancun's to be auctioned Rogilio Galvan Chavez's interest in his Gulf Breeze business is expected to be auctioned off after his sentencing in April. He was found guilty of federal drug charges in early February. Until April 30, the property located at 1385 Shoreline Drive is under a preliminary order of forfeiter, issued by the federal judge handling the case. Chavez faces anywhere from 10 years to life in prison for his conviction for his role in a drug ring operated by his former employees from his restaurant. "Because of the quantity [of drugs involved], there's a mandatory sentence," said Managing Assistant U.S. Attorney Dixie Morrow. Federal agents raided restaurants and residences on Dec.3. Atotal of 25 people were arrested in connection with Chavez' charges, 15 of whom were deported. |
