Girls track team takes third at Pace Patriot Invitational
Tryon sets two school records, team third out of 15 teams

Jason Thompson/Gulf Breeze News Tobie Bass was second in the shot put and third in the discus at the Patriot Invitational.
The Gulf Breeze Lady Dolphin track team finished third at the 15-team Pace Patriot Invitational Thursday.

Gulf Breeze finished with 65 points, only two points behind runner up Navarre. Pine Forest won with 164.5 points, while PHS was fourth, Escambia fifth and West Florida sixth.

Emily Tryon won two events, setting new school records in the process. She won the mile with a school-record time of 5:27, while winning the two mile with a school record time of 11:27.19.

Tryon, along with Jen Pfeifler, Katie Aldridge and Lauren Musick won the 4x800 meter relay with a time of 10:12.8, the best time they've had this season.

Pfeifler was third in the mile (5:38.1) and was fifth in the 800 (2:27). Pfeifler, along with Laurin Halstead, Aldridge and Musick took fourth in the 4x400 meter relay (4:19).

Tobie Bass was second in the shot put (33-5) and third in the discus (88-9), while Briana Santiago was fourth in the triple jump (34-7) and fifth in the long jump (16-3).

Meredeth Chavers was fourth in the pole vault (8-0) and Celia Eddy was sixth in the high jump (4-10).
