Incredible things happen every day

As I crossed the Bob Sikes bridge for the Easter Sunrise Service at the Bandshell on Quietwater Boardwalk, the moon was simply gorgeous - full, bright, and hanging there as a luminous ball on a string. I could not help but be awed by this spectacle of nature.

A little later, as the Sunrise Service was underway, the rays of the sun came streaming from the East. As it rose over the clouds, it, too, was an awesome sight. The awe inspired by these two celestial bodies was not quite equal to the awe inspired by the reason nearly 300 people who braved the cold breezes, gathered to witness to one of the central beliefs of the Christian Faith - the Resurrection.

There are some who find that too incredulous to accept as true. Many things fall into that category of "incredulous." For example, you may not have seen the explosion of a star halfway across the universe - the most distant object that could be seen on earth by the naked eye. That star, we are told by scientists, exploded 7.5 billion light years ago, and the light only came into sight Saturday night. NASA reports that the burst occurred when the universe was about half its current age - long before Earth was even formed. Before the explosion occurred, the star was about 40 times bigger than our sun. Incredulous!!

Guarding the beaches in style Lifeguards on Pensacola Beach have four new lifeguard stands to help protect them from rain, sun and splinters while they protect beach swimmers. The old lifeguard tower will be donated to the road department or lifeguards on Perdido Key.
There are so many things that I cannot comprehend, but that inability doesn't make them impossible or untrue. I simply have to take the words of others more knowledgeable and closer to the situation that am I.

I don't think I'd want to live in a world in which I could explain everything- it would be so dull, uninspiring, and lacking the ability to bring about a sense of awe - awe that provides a challenge to grow.
