Tiger Point Park opens 2008 t-ball, Baseball, softball seasons

More than 30 teams from pre T-Ball to 14-under opened their 2008 Tiger Point Sports Association seasons Saturday at Tiger Point Park.

The following is a recap of Saturday's action:

8-under baseball

Braves 16, Cubs 15 Spencer Segal and Mack Broach both scored three times for the Braves, while Josh Turnipseed, Chase Culatte and Ryan Bixler all scored twice.

Pirates 11, Athletics 6

10-under baseball

Diamondbacks 4, Red Sox 3

Clay Bloodworth scored twice for the Diamondbacks, while Stephen Huggins tripled and scored a run and Jeremy Lawrence singled and scored a run.

Marlins 8, Tigers 5 Phillies 11, Athletics 1

12-under baseball Diamondbacks 15, Cardinals 4 Evan Ogden went 3-for-3 with a home run and scored three times to lead the Diamondbacks to a win over the Cardinals.

Blake Myers went 2-for-2 and scored three times, while Jake Walters and Will Turnipseed had two hits and scored twice.

Braves 7, Blue Jays 1

14-under baseball

Cardinals 8, Braves 6

Ryan Schultz and Max Glassman both scored twice as the Cardinals edged the Braves.

Matt Kolokouris and Adam Enzian both tripled and scored a run for the Braves.

8-under softball Dynamite 13, K 9s 3 Ponytails 9, Dolphins 4

10-under softball

Black Panthers 9, Ameriprise 1

Mady Smith scored twice as the Black Panthers beat Ameriprise.

Aidan Nichols, Allison Von Brock, Amber Hamilton, Bella Vega and Larissa Hillman all had two hits and scored once in the win.

Tiger Point 1 3, Tiger Point 2 3 Susie Harris, Olivia Printiss and Ashton Summers scored for Tiger Point 1, while Anna Lewis, Megan Benoit and Sydney Ezelle all scored for Tiger Point 2.

12-under softball

Gulf Breeze 12, Tiger Point 0

Sara Spillers went 3-for-3 and scored three times to lead Gulf Breeze to a win. Taylor Pacyga, Kharas Denson and Savanna Johnson all scored twice for Gulf Breeze.

Gulf Breeze 3 9, Tiger Point 3 6
