Lady Dolphin track wins Pizza Hut Relays
Lady Dolphins set two school records, boys finish fourth

The Gulf Breeze Lady Dolphin track team won its second big invitational track meet of the season Saturday, winning the 10-team Pizza Hut Relays at Tate High School.

The Lady Dolphins finished with 92 points, easily defeating runner up West Florida (72). Washington was third, followed by Milton and Tate.

GBHS set a pair of school records in the meet. The quartet of Lauren Musick, Morgan Floyd, Jen Pfeifler and Emily Tryon won the distance medley (800 meters, 400, 1200, 1600) with a time of 13:31.8, while Briana Santiago, Floyd, Pfeifler and Tryon won the mile medley relay (200, 200, 400, 800) with a time of 4:39.

The rest of the GBHS places and times are as follows:

High jump - 2) Celia Eddy (4-11), 5) Floyd (4-6).

Shot put - 1) Tobie Bass (31-10).

Long jump - 2) Santiago (16-8).

Triple jump - 2) Santiago (34-11).

Pole vault - 1) Meredeth Chavers (7-0), 5) Colleen Eastburn (6-6).

300 meter hurdles - 1) Katie Aldridge (52.57, a personal best).

4x100 meter relay - 4) Musick, Santiago, Floyd, Chavers (53.29, a personal best).

4x200 meter relay - 7) Gina Bertelli, Snyder, Emily Craven, Eastburn (2:10).

4x800 meter relay - 1) Musick, Aldridge, Pfeifler, Tryon (10:51).

4x1600 meter relay - 7) Becca Violette, Jenna Ceravolo, Jennifer Winn, Cori Snyder (29:00).

The boys team had three top three places in the relays. The quartet of Davis Thomas, Aber Wilson, Dylan Lee and Tommy Gibble took second in the 4x1600 meter relay (20:13), while Will Thomas, Davis Thomas, Wilson and Gibble took second in the 4x800 meter relay (9:01).

The distance medley relay team of Gibble, Sam Grooms, Wilson and Will Thomas took third with a time of 11:30.57.

The track teams will take part in the Pace Patriot Invitational today, starting at 9 a.m.
