Calvary celebrates at the civic center

Calvary Chapel Gulf Breeze will hold three unique services celebrating Easter 2008. First, on Friday, March 21, at 6 p.m., The church will celebrate Good Friday with a special communion service at our church that includes worship, drama and a message from Pastor John Spencer.

Second, starting at 6:30 a.m. on March 23, Easter Sunday, a special Sunrise Service and Beach Baptism will be held at the Pensacola Beach Gulfside Pavilion.

Also, join church members for their fifth annual Easter Celebration, this year in the Pensacola Civic Center, at 11 a.m.

This Easter Celebration is free and open to the public. Everyone is invited to attend.

St. Ann releases Holy Week schedule

The Holy Week schedule at St. Ann Catholic Church in Gulf Breeze and Our Lady Peace on Pensacola Beach is as follows: March 20 Maundy Thursday, 9:15 a.m., Women's Study Group in Room 7 of the Family Life Center, 9:15-11:15 a.m.; 6:30 p.m. Holy Thursday Service; March 21 Good Friday, 3 p.m. Stations of the Cross in the Main Church, 6:30 p.m. Good Friday Service; March 22 Saturday, 5:30 p.m. Easter Vigil and RCIA Reception and set up for Easter Brunch in Nickelsen Hall after reception.

Navarre holds sunrise beach service

The Navarre community-wide Easter Sunrise Service will begin at 6:30 a.m., March 23, and will meet on the outdoor deck of Cocodrie's Restaurant on 8649 Gulf Blvd. on Navarre Beach. The sunrise service will begin at 6:30 am, rain or shine, and is sponsored by Navarre BeachSide Church. Extra parking is available in the Pubic Beach Access parking lot which is right next to the restaurant. Plenty of seating on the deck and in the parking lot.

The Navarre BeachSide Church's 8:30 Easter service will follow at the same location. Call 850-939-1533 for more details.

GBUMC announces Easter schedule

Gulf Breeze United Methodist Church (GBUMC) will have Holy Thursday services on March 20, at 7 p.m., on the main campus, located at 75 Fairpoint Drive in Gulf Breeze. The chapel choir will present Faure's "Requiem" and Holy Communion will be observed.

Good Friday (March 21) services will be at 7 p.m. at the main campus. "Tenebrae," a service of darkness, will be presented by the sanctuary choir.

Easter weekend services will be: Saturday, March 22, 6 p.m. at the Community Life Center (Soundside Drive at Highway 98); Sunday, March 23 - 8, 9:30 and 11 a.m. at the main campus, 9 and 10:30 a.m. at the Community Life Center.

Baptisms/Reaffirmations may be made on Easter Sunday at the Main Campus Chapel. Sign up sheets are available in the church office. For more information call 850-932-3594.

Blessing of the pets is March 30

Mark your calendars for the annual Blessing of the Pets on Sunday, March 30, at the 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. services of the Community Life Center, located at the intersection of Soundside Drive and U.S. 98. These services will be outside, so dress comfortable. Also, there will be no Children's Ministry activities on this Sunday so the whole family can enjoy this service.A nursery will be provided.
